Carol and Vince both live in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It was Carol’s dream to own a Micro Camper. She wanted something she could use daily and then whenever spare time was available, she could just drive away with her husband Vince and enjoy quality time together to relax and unwind…

Initially Vince was sceptical but he quickly bought into the idea after a visit to us here at IJC… I think our enthusiasm and passion for the project and Carol’s persuasion took over – basically we ganged up on him!

Vince could now start see Carol’s dream…

Carol explained she had been let down by other companies and hadn’t even been called back. She made a phone call to us and we invited them both to our new showroom to go through her ideas…

We had a good chat and a nice coffee and found out that Carol had her own Ironing business and Vince worked at a local garden centre. They were both very hard-working people who were coming to retirement age.

The “legacy” left to Carol from her Mothers recent passing had enabled her to choose her new dream vehicle so this was a very special moment.

It was now our job to make this a very special vehicle knowing it was on our shoulders so that Carols dream would soon become her reality… Vince’s early apprehension quickly turned into excitement when he saw that what we could do!

Solely based upon our five-star reviews left by existing customers and our award-winning reputation over 23 years of business, Carol and Vince placed their order and were now full to the brim with ideas and excitement!

They chose the specification and give us their “Wish List” fully aware that this was our first ever-full Micro Camper Conversion- so we/I had a lot to live up to…

The vehicle they chose was a 22 plate Vauxhall Combo MPV with just 1000 miles and was in as new condition.

We immediately started our quest to deliver the best buying experience and Micro camper they could ever wish for…

I promised outstanding communication (as per our reviews) and during the conversion I offered daily updates, often late at night – with images and snapshots of the development unfolding…

It was incredibly exciting for all of us and they both waited eagerly in anticipation for the next WhatsApp message their phone to see the progress.

Towards the end of the project (which lasted approximately three weeks), only “teaser shots” were sent, deliberately increasing their excitement which meant that upon collection they hadn’t seen have a full image of their new vehicle!

I decided that this was worthy of a very special VIP treatment…

On the day of collection we totally enclosed the showroom and pulled down the blinds so the vehicle was not in sight.

As Carol and Vince drove past, Carol commented that she couldn’t even see the vehicle and the gates were closed and the blinds were shut! This was deliberate to build up the atmosphere, which we knew would erupt into pure enjoyment when they saw Dora for the first time!

When Carol and Vince arrived they experienced a grand entrance…We opened our remote-control gates to the business allowing them in then re-closed them to offer a very personal, exclusive and unforgettable VIP experience.

They had no idea that this was going to happen but I did advise Carol to wear her best dress, and that Vince should look smart for the occasion and both looked fantastic.

After we greeted our soon to be film stars, I advised them we were going to film the event and gave them a microphone each. Carol was initially shocked, but I sensed her excitement after patiently waiting to see her beloved new vehicle.

At short notice we employed a local professional cameraman to capture these incredible moments forever. As this whole VIP situation was simply an idea of mine at the last minute I decided it will be best to just adlib the situation and go with the flow with no real structure to the filming. It was just real people in a real situation, so you could see for yourself this wonderful experience in an unrehearsed way.

The genuine astonishment and amazement was truly fantastic to see…

Helping somebody achieve their goals and providing a professional service at a level that they had never seen or experienced before was the highlight of our year.

We had several more surprises in store- these included personalised decals with their names on and personalised “Dora” decals. We even included images of Carol’s beloved three cats into the interior of the vehicle!

We also had commissioned a personalised Star Wars, Boba Fett plaque for Vince, who is an avid Star Wars fan and even dresses up as Bobba Fett at Star Wars conventions! What a cool guy. To be honest, we were slightly disappointed Vince didn’t come dressed in his full Star wars costume!

Carol enjoyed her gifts that we offered, including personalised mugs, Prosecco and several books for some late night reading.

We are all so very proud at IJC that we helped these fantastic customers in a way that they will never forget.

Other existing customers will tell you that our after sales is second to none and I now have regular contact with Carol and Vince, often calling them to share a funny story or two and even asking for advice when sharing our own Micro Camper experiences…!

Carol has also kindly helped another customer called by calling her direct to give her some support when she was making her decision choosing her own Micro Camper from IJC. Amazing!

This is a real story with real people from a company that genuinely cares about customers and making people’s lives better.

So Carol and Vince – we know you’re going to love your little trips away in “Dora the explorer” and it was a genuine pleasure to meet you both.
